Keeping your laptop up to date is essential for smooth performance and resolving common issues. Ensure both Windows Updates and Dell Driver Updates are completed regularly. Follow the steps below:
PART 1: Update Windows

Open Windows Update
- Click the Windows icon on the bottom-left of your taskbar.
- Type Windows Update in the search bar and select it.

Check for Updates
- Click the blue Check for updates button.

Install Available Updates
- If Cumulative Updates are available, click Install.

Restart if Needed
- If prompted, click Restart Now to apply the updates.

Repeat the Process
- After restarting, check for updates again to ensure all are installed.
- Once Windows is fully updated, proceed to Part 2 below.
PART 2: Update Drivers with SupportAssist

Open SupportAssist
- Click the Windows icon on the taskbar.
- Type SupportAssist and open the application.

Prepare for Scanning
- Ensure your laptop is plugged into its charger to avoid interruptions.
- Dismiss any notifications in SupportAssist by selecting Never remind me for non-critical ones.

Update Software
- Click the Update Software option in the middle of the screen.
- Select Start to initiate a scan.

Install Driver Updates
- Wait for the scans to complete.
- Under Get Drivers & Downloads, click Update to install the available driver updates.

Follow Prompts
- Complete the installation process and restart your laptop if prompted.
